In an update on Rishabh Pant's availability for IPL 2024, Delhi Capitals head coach Ricky Ponting expressed confidence in the wicketkeeper-batter's return. Pant, who missed the entire IPL 2023 due to injuries from a car crash, is determined to make a comeback to competitive cricket. Ponting, while uncertain about Pant's role, mentioned the player's confidence in being fit to play and noted that it remains unsure if he will take up wicketkeeping duties in the upcoming season.

Rishabh Pant marked his presence with Ricky Ponting and Delhi Capitals management at the IPL 2024 Auction in Dubai. He was helping the DC by raising paddle to bid for their targeted players. Pant made his first public appearance after car crash when visited Arun Jaitley Stadium to cheer for Delhi Capitals during the match against Gujarat Titans in IPL 2023.
